De voorstelling mightysociety4 van Eric de Vroedt is afgelopen week geselecteerd voor het festival TF-1. Op dit festival spelen de - volgens de jury - tien beste voorstellingen van het afgelopen seizoen nog een keer. De voorstelling is dit seizoen voor het laatst te zien in Schouwburg Arnhem op 25 mei!

De voorstelling mightysociety4 van Eric de Vroedt is afgelopen week geselecteerd voor het festival TF-1. Op dit festival spelen de - volgens de jury - tien beste voorstellingen van het afgelopen seizoen nog één keer. De voorstelling is dit seizoen voor het laatst te zien in Schouwburg Arnhem op 25 mei!

mightysociety4 is een politieke thriller over globalisering & geluk. Over verdwaalde Europeanen met 50-er-jaren nostalgie en would-be kosmopolieten met provinciale voorkeuren. Over vereenzaamde elites en vreemde volkswijsheid.

Uitgangspunt is de prangende vraag of de geglobaliseerde liberale markteconomie wel of niet bijdraagt aan het menselijk geluk. De voorstelling toont vijf mensen die ingrijpend met de gevolgen van de globalisering worden geconfronteerd. Een doorsnee werknemer, een arbeidsongeschikte ambtenaar, een politica, een zakenman en een journalist. Twee hardcore Vinex-vertegenwoordigers en een modern grachtengordel-gezin.

Wat levert de globalisering hen op? Wat verliezen zij? Dreigen zij te verzuipen in de hypercompetitieve en gestresste Nieuwe Wereld? Of plukken zij juist de zoete vruchten van deze dynamische en kosmopolitische tijd?

Eric de Vroedt maakt in circa zeven jaar tijd tien voorstellingen over prangende actuele kwesties. Deel 1 ging over populisme, delen 2 en 3 gingen over terreur, en in deel 4 is voor globalisering gekozen.

Met de naderende G8-top en de steeds verdergaande globalisering is het een zeer actuele voorstelling, die bovendien in de pers goed ontvangen is. De Volkskrant schreef: "een schitterende zwarte komedie" De Trouw: "ongebruikelijk heftige maatschappelijke betrokkenheid".

De voorstelling is nog tot 23 mei te zien in Theater Frascati - Amsterdam, op 25 mei in de Schouwburg Arnhem, en in september nog een keer op TF-1 - Amsterdam.
