New uranium-waste train to Russia

Marking the 21st anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in Almelo and Gronau anti-nuclear-activists protested in front of the uranium enrichment plants against Urenco and the export of depleted uranium waste to Russia. The Russian environmental journalist Grigorij Pasko demanded an end to these transports. On the site of the Gronau facility Urenco is openly assembling a new uranium waste transport to Russia in the meantime - expecting to leave over the next two weeks - right through the Netherlands!!
To discuss the dangers of these uranium transports on 28 April there will be an international conference in Almelo (Theaterhotel, Schouwburgplein 1) organized by Dutch anti-nuclear groups. Invited are among others activists from the Russian environmental organization Ecodefense. The conference will start at 2 pm and will hopefully boost the resistance against the uranium exports.
Urenco and the police didn't like the spontaneous vigil in front of the Almelo-enrichment plant at lunchtime. They took the personal details of all participants, including the Russian journalist who has spent several years in Russian jails for disclosing military secrets (like dumping nuclear waste in the Japanese Sea). Is Urenco afraid Pasko discovers some of their secrets??
