Eind mei zal er een verzamel-cd uitkomen met nummers van Nederlandse artiesten die zich verzetten tegen de G8. De opbrengst van de cd zal gaan naar basis-democratische groepen in Latijns-Amerika. Het uitbrengen van deze cd is een voorbeeld van hoe je zelf vanaf de basis de wereld kan veranderen.

Solidarity zonder grenzen!

Grassroots Projects (netwerk van anders-globalisten) kwam een tijd geleden met het idee om een alternatief voor de G8 te bedenken. Want het is natuurlijk een goede zaak om in juni met z'n allen de top in Duitsland te gaan blokkeren, maar wat dan...

De laatste 2 maanden is er aan een benefiet-cd gewerkt die eind mei uit zal gaan komen, met de volgende bands:

Tijdens de G8 zal er weer in een kleine en gesloten kring uitgebreid gepraat worden hoe de wereld vorm gegeven moet worden. Vooral de landen in het Zuiden merken hier zoals gewoonlijk de gevolgen van. Latijns-Amerika wordt steeds meer een paradijs van grote multinationals. In een rap tempo worden enorme lappen grond opgekocht en de indiginas zijn hier veelal het slachtoffer van. Het verzet tegen de vrijhandelszone's groeit echter in een rap tempo en met de opbrengst van de cd zullen dan ook basis-democratische groepen gesteund worden die zich inzetten voor autonomie en die met respect voor de natuur hun leven vorm willen blijven geven.

Op zaterdagavond 26 mei zal de cd voor het eerst in Appelscha tijdens de Pinksterlanddagen gepresenteerd worden. Met optredens van Suicidal Birds en De Fatwa's.
