Apparent bomb attack against Food Not Bombs in St.Petersburg

Yesterday 4th of February a small bomb, supplied with a timing device,
exploded in 4:20 PM in Vladimirskaya square of St. Petersburg, where Food
Not Bombs is organised every sunday by
different rotating groups.

Bomb hidden to a kiosk selling flowers, but as device was small, it just
damaged kiosk and nobody was hurt. Obviously, purpose of the bomb was not to
kill but to terrorize.

Luckily, that day Food Not Bombs was late from the schedule and activists
showed up in the spot few minutes after the explosion, and food was given to
homeless without any problems.
Usually 4:20 would be the moment with most people gathering in the square
for food.

At time of the action, activists did not paid much attention to damages
but considered timing as a coincidence - it could have been some conflict
between organised crime for example. But as later in the day it was revealed
that bomb had been set with a timing device, people considered that Food Not
Bombs may have been targeted on purpose. Russian nazis have used explosives
quite often, last time in Moscow 22nd of December a bomb set up against
local anti-fascists wounded a number of police who attempted to neutralise
device. Last August in Moscow a bomb set up by nazis killed 11 in
Cherkisovski marketplace. Nazis have often targeted
Food Not Bombs in St. Petersburg, 14th of January 2007 activist Ivan Elin
suffered 20 stab wounds when returning home from action but he is
recovering. 13th of November 2005 another Food Not Bombs activist Timur
Kacharava was murdered few hours after action.

In  http://anatrrra.livejournal.com/22099.html you may see photos from the
site of
explosion. If you have a blog, please post this link there as it helps to
increase
the rating of the article. Anatrrra is also criticizing a pro-police St.
Petersburg
internet publication fontanka.ru for publishing wrong time of the explosion,
7:30, suspecting that they did this on purpose. Correspondent of the site is
denying this in comment section of the article.
