De media zijn uiterst belangrijk in het democratisch proces. Ze behoren de burgers goed te informeren opdat zij een overwogen keuze kunnen maken. Anno 2006 voldoen ze daar geheel niet aan. Hoeveel Nederlanders weten van de vele nieuwe politieke partijen die een echte omwenteling willen in Den Haag?

In een poging voor de verkiezingen de oude media wakker te schudden maakte Robert Verlinden van www.lijst14.nl het de journalisten wel heel erg makkelijk: Met zijn karretje en omroepinstallatie maakte Verlinden een rondje langs de "onafhankelijke media" op 20 november 2006. Letterlijk op de stoep voor hun deuren. Een verslaggever van Het Echte Nieuws maakte een verslag. Zie hier het filmpje:

De mediabedrijven stuurden echter geen journalisten. Wel een orde handhaver met de kennelijke bedoeling een einde te maken aan de lastige kritiek. De media maken zelf wel uit wat ze wetenswaardig beschouwen. En vooral ook: wat niet gekend en geweten hoeft te worden.
