PRI gangs organised to attack APPO (MM) - 02.11.2006 02:11
PRI gangs are organising to attack the APPO demonstrators. The excuse to get the PFP police/military in, were the many murders by PRI gangs. Now they don't fight the PRI gangs, but help them to get rid of APPO. Príistas are planning to remove CIPO out of the neighborhood by force! This part of Santa Lucia is enemy territory. It is near Barricade Three, the Príista attack of last Friday, and the site of Brad Will's murder. It's also where the CIPO house is located. When the Príistas first set up their barricades, some were directly in front of the CIPO house, one using materials that had been propped up against the outside wall. Now, less than a week after Brad Will's murder, some of the same Príistas have agreed to "dislodge" CIPO from the neighborhood. If history, recent and distant, teaches us anything, their method will be violence. It is important that they know that acts of violence will not go unseen, even in this small neighborhood that they control. Please contact some or all of those listed below; tell them that if CIPO is attacked, that the Mexican state is responsible. And please also keep this in mind as solidarity actions are planned and carried out. http://vientos.info/cml/ from Dean: translation: PRI threatens (to mobilize 20,000 state activists for tomorrow) to confront teachers and APPO in Oaxaca. The state leader, Héctor Pablo Ramírez, assured that if the federal governement doesnt detain the leaders of the movement, "the PRI will do it itself". "Amaga PRI estatal con enfrentar a maestros y APPO en Oaxaca El dirigente estatal, Héctor Pablo Ramírez, aseguró que si el gobierno federal no detiene a los líderes del movimiento, "el PRI hará lo propio"." http://www.jornada.unam.mx:8080/ultimas/el-pri-de-oaxaca-ofrece-apoyo-de-militantes-a-la-pfp =============== Furthermore: * Channel 9 has been attacked and is now in PFP hands; * Road Mex-Oax is 'freed' by PFP; * roads in Chiapas and the Oaxacan Istmo trans american highway are blocked; | PRI gang discussion + NL media ANP manipula | (MM) - 02.11.2006 02:35
From Dean: Correction: PRI to mobilize 20,000 state activists (no indication when) I doubt that 20,000 PRI activists will pour into Oaxaca city, but the party will use its considerable organizing capabilities to make good on their threat throughout the state. This federal state friction happens alot in Mexico (even within the PRI), and it is a distinct possibility that the PFP could end up in confrontations with PRI militants. But you are right they employ dirty tactics, as we have already seen, using bands of armed thugs terrorizing in the dead of night. And IMO they will feel emboldened to increase these types of attacks as the PFP, under the banner of "law and order", keeps APPO militants in check. MM: The point is that PRD (&APPO) are out of money and *might* have less people to bring there. PRI people normally have more money and corrupt companies like Coca Cola might subsidise for the transport directly or indirectly. Normally ; if they want to fight with bare hands: No problem, because they're a (corrupt) minority. But right now a lot PRD people / teachers have no money for transport, are tired and might have to wait till next salary payment. So let the PRI people do this and the PRI gangs will be cleaned next month. Ofcourse PRI people don't fight with bare hands, but hire armed paramilitary killers and gangs, as they did till now. So again the second fight will be lost, but after that the majority will also arm themselfes and get rid of them. It has to be in this way; first the movement has to accept more attacks, before the momentum is there. The PFP came because PRI gangs were killing many people. Now they're here to protect the same PRI gangs. This looks like pre-war Hitler Germany. At least their game failed to act like they came because APPO caused the problems.

"Someone in the organization was tipped off and they passed it on to the house. Mike" The Consejo Indígena Popular de Oaxaca "Ricardo Flores Magón" CIPO-RFM is the house of the poor fighting against injustice. We are an organization of communities that use non-violent resistance. Our strength lies in helping each other, and in our independence from all political parties, legal or secret, and from all the institutions and organizations of the government. The activities of CIPO-RFM are the outcome of agreements achieved in meetings, thus we all share the successes and failures. CIPO currently represents 24 communities of Chatin, Mixtec, Chinantec, Cuicatec, Zapotec, Mixe, Triqui, black or half-caste villages. Our house is open to all of them. | Feedback: source | (MM) - 02.11.2006 05:46
My friend who is living with them, at the CIPO house, believes it to be true. He sent out the same message this afternoon. So if he believes it then they believe it. Maybe they didn't post it on their site because they've taken their computer and any other valuables and put them somewhere else in hopes that they won't be destroyed. Just a guess. There could be many reasons its not on the site. That fact in itself doesn't mean too much. josh | PRI BEGINT AANVALLEN | (MM) Dean - 02.11.2006 06:13

Agents of La agencia federal de investigacion (how original) are coming to UABJ right now -- where Radio Universidad/Radio APPO is transmitting. These federal agents are tougher than the PFP and are ready to infringe on University autonomy, on the pretext that they have high powered arms.
