Naast vele Nederlandse sprekers en deelnemers komen ook internationale gasten naar het Nederlands Sociaal Forum in mei. Daaronder de bekende Indiaase andersglobaliste Vandana Shiva en Mustafa Barghouti uit Palestina.

NSF 2006

Van 19 tot 21 mei 2006 vindt in Nijmegen het tweede Nederlands Sociaal Forum plaats. Onder het motto 'een andere wereld is mogelijk' zullen duizenden bezoekers deelnemen aan ruim honderd workshops, een cultureel programma, een filmfestival en debatten met internationale sprekers. De zaterdag wordt afgesloten met een groot feest en er zijn goedkope overnachtingsmogelijkheden in slaapzalen en (ovb) op de speciale camping. Vanuit het hele land rijden bussen naar Nijmegen. Kaartjes daarvoor kosten 10 euro (retour).

Buitenlandse sprekers

Naast vele Nederlandse sprekers komen ook gerenomeerde internationale gasten naar het NSF. Daaronder de bekende Indiaase andersglobaliste Vandana Shiva. Onlangs was op het IDFA-festival de documentaire Bullshit te zien die over Vandana Shiva is gemaakt. Een ander bekende spreker die naar Nijmegen komt is Mustafa Barghouthi. Hij was de onafhankelijke tegenkandidaat van Abbas bij de presidentsverkiezingen vorig jaar in Palestina. Barghouthi is daarnaast ook als arts verbonden de Union of Palestinian Medical Relief Committees. Een andere internationaal bekende gast is Walden Bello uit de Filippijnen die directeur is van Focus on the Global South. Uit Egypte komt Samir Amin, het hoofd van het Third World Forum in Senegal en schrijver van het boek 'Capitalism in the age of globalization'. Tot slot komt ook Anuradha Mittal (VS) van het Oakland Institute auteur van het boek "10 Reasons to Abolish the IMf and World Bank".

Inschrijven workshops

Het Nederlands Sociaal Forum wordt decentraal georganiseerd. Alle actiegroepen of maatschappelijke organisaties die de beginselverklaring van het forum ondersteunen kunnen workshops of seminars organiseren op het forum. Aanmelden van workshops of seminars kan via www.sociaalforum.nl, daar is ook informatie te vinden over de thema�s en je kunt zien welke twintig workshops inmiddels al aangemeld zijn. Workshops (20/50 personen) worden namens 1 organisatie aangemeld en seminars (50/100 personen) namens drie organisaties. Kosten voor een workshop zijn 50 euro per organisatie, voor een seminar zijn de kosten 500 euro per seminar. Aanmelden via
