Sunday, december 11th. A beginners workshop on Linux, especially for women. Sunday, december 11th, the free internet workplace PUSCII will be hosting a beginners workshop on the Linux operating system, especially for women. In this workshop we'll cover the basics on how you can run GNU/Linux (a free alternative to microsoft) on an old computer. That comes down to: - Giving a short introduction to the directory structure and some of the linux distributions. - Showing some basic useful applications and let you play with them. - Showing some basic shell comands. And if that's not enough, we'll demonstrate free and/or open source software that's ideal for your activist projects. Feel free to come with questions if you want, it all depends on who shows up and what you want. So if you are interested and feel like learning something about computers in a women-only environment come join the fun. If none of this tech talk makes sense, you know nothing of computers, but always wanted to know more - please come! This will be a safe environment for beginners to ask questions and break things and learn from each other. When: Sunday, december 11th, 14.00h Where: Puscii, Stationsplein 7, Utrecht Who: tulpje@grepgirl.org Entrance: free (donations welcome), women only (trans positive).
