The Sahrawi prisoner of conscience, Ali Salem Tamek, The spokesman of the Sahrawi political prisoners An explanatory statement While the appeals calling for the release of the Sahrawi political prisoners are increasing, the Moroccans, uncertainty goes up continuing to hide the truth and deceiving the world to veil their atrocities as well as deviating the attention far from the slow killing of the Sahrawi political prisoners going on hunger strike for more than 45 days. The Moroccan authorities still continue their stubbornness; the minister of Justice in an interview to the Moroccan lying daily paper, Aujourd'hui Le Maroc , alleged that the deportation of Ali Salem Tamek, Mohamed Elmoutaoikil, Noumria Brahim, Lidri Elhoucine and Larbi Massaoud was as a response to their desire and to make them nearer to their families, ignoring that one of the main reasons for the hunger strike is the protest against their deportation and the call for being gathered in the Black Prison in El Ayun. He also declared that these prisoners are neither prisoners of conscience nor are they political prisoners, rejecting all the Moroccan and international organizations statements. Not only this, but also he described the hunger strikers, demands as "nonsense" Is someone who call for their right to hospitalization, visits, communication means, receiving the letters coming to them from abroad and calling for the investigation in the torture they were subjected to, is nonsense? What is really absurd and nonsense is the Moroccan refusal to fulfill these demands and not care for the prisoners, souls that the Moroccan state pushes them towards collective death. The Ministry of Justice irresponsible acts are still continuing, the latest of which is the "folkloric" visit of a Moroccan delegation headed by the Secretary General of the ministry to the Black Prison, accompanied with the official TV channels very few days after the display of the embarrassing photos of the dramatic conditions in which the Black Prison inmates live. This reminds us of the Nazi jails. The photos launched by the Moroccan and international mass media unveiled the horrible conditions in which the prisoners live apart from the various violations perpetrated against these prisoners; they are subjected to torture, hard unfair sentences, ill-treatment during custody and common punishment of their families. The repetitive hunger strikes are the only means to these political prisoners to protest against their conditions and call for their rights, which increases their bodies, weakness and their misery. The acknowledgement of the Moroccan ministry of Justice Secretary General that the Black Prison in El Ayun is overcrowded is the best proof. However, this prison does not only suffer from crowdedness, but it is also the same as a cemetery of live/dead people. Earlier, more than 10 prisoners were dead there. The court of appeal general attorney,s tendency to describe the photo-takers as criminals and the putting of the prisoner, Boulemaiz Mohamed, in a separate individual cell and his severe torture, is really an obvious scenario to justify the atrocities that the photos unveiled. The attorney, instead, had normally to investigate in the terrible arrest conditions of these prisoners and the illegal practices against them, the harassment of the prisoners, families, the sexual harassment of the female prisoners and the wide drug circulation among the inmates. The Moroccan authorities insistence in arresting these conscious prisoners and the Sahrawi political prisoners in the Black prison in humiliating hard conditions that resulted in chronic illnesses threatening their health stands for their revenge and racist segregation and the enjoyment of the Sahrawis, suffering. The delay of catering for the political prisoners, demands for more than 45 days is a clear sign of its intention to commit a common killing crime against 37 Sahrawi political prisoners who are now nearer to death than to life. The Sahrawi political prisoners, highly appreciating the increase of the international support to their issue and thankfully taking into account the support of the Moroccan Association of Human Rights and the international organizations defending human rights, a.. all the Moroccan authorities to respect the international charters guaranteeing the freedom of opinion, expression and the prisoners, rights and also to cease making up formulated issues and continuous harassment of the Sahrawi prisoners and their families and to allow the human rights organizations to visit them. b.. condemn the illegal measures that the prisoners, Ettanjawi Yahdih, Sbaai Mohamed Lamine and Boulemaiz Mohamed suffered from in the Black Prison in association with the photos unveiling the horrible conditions in this prison and call for raising up of the individual isolation from upon Boulemaiz Mohamed as well as the opening of an investigation in the torture he was subjected to. c.. consider the deportation of 72 prisoners from the Black Prison by the Moroccan authorities on a SUPRATOUR bus to different Moroccan prisons in Morocco and 40 others from Ait Melloul prison to the civil prison of Tiznit, the most of whom are Sahrawis, is not a sufficient step and it is a direct result from the international condemnation and the media scandal that the Black Prison photos elicited, stressing that this may just be a step to market a false decorated image of the prisoners, conditions and broadcast it on mass media. d.. appeal to all the live spirits throughout the world to rush in order to rescue the prisoners' lives that are seriously deteriorating due to the open-ended hunger strike that lasted for more than 45 days up to now, and to fight the Mooroccan policy against the Sahrawis and the Sahrawi human rights activist.
