Noticias, Ojalá en Folil organiseren een informatie avond over de rol van jongeren in inheemse culturele en politieke organisaties. Twee jonge activistes delen hun recente ervaringen in Chili en Bolivia aan de hand van beelden en gaan in gesprek met het publiek. De inheemse bevolkingsgroepen in deze landen vinden steeds nieuwe vormen van verzet waarin jongeren een belangrijke rol spelen. In Bolivia speelt een voortdurende politieke crisis en een structurele uitsluiting van de grote inheemse meerderheid, zoals dit voorjaar weer bleek toen er wederom een president werd afgezet. In Chili is de jonge generatie Mapuches bezig met een inhaal race en biedt zo weerstand tegen multinationals die hun grond ontnemen, verwaarlozen en natuurlijke rijkdommen uitbuiten. Deze jonge generatie speelt een belangrijke rol in het herwinnen van de inheemse identiteit en verzet tegen uitbuiting en discriminatie in de huidige Latijns Amerikaanse context. Hiervoor zijn nieuwe vaardigheden op het gebied van communicatie, waaronder Internet en radio, van groot belang.

Sprekers:

Gloria Ajpi Jalpa uit Bolivia. Zij werkt bij het CEADL (Centro de Educación de Apoyo al Desarollo Local), en zet zich in voor de participatie van jongeren en vrouwen in de politieke bewegingen van El Alto en La Paz onder andere Federación de Juntas Vecinales. Zij maakt een politiek radioprogramma voor en door jongeren. Ook vertegenwoordigt ze het Grito de los Exluidos netwerk in Bolivia.

Eugenia Calquin Morales uit Chili. Zij vertegenwoordigt de Consejería Indígena Urbana en zij is actief bij de jongerenorganisatie voor Mapuches in de stad Wechekeche Ni Trawun. Ook is ze redactielid van www.mapuexpress.net en maakt een radioprogramma over politieke participatie van Mapuche jongeren.
