Chad: merciless War of the General-president Idriss Déby against the
journalists. A breaker of arrests beats down on the country.
The Action of the Chad for the Unity and Socialism (ACTUS) expresses its deep preoccupation, its anger and its indignation in front of this waltz and waterfall of arrests of the Chadian journalists. Under deceptive excuses " deceitful and biased information, instigation in the hatred tribale and apology of the violence, defamation towards the President Idriss Déby ", justice knocked very hardly.
On July 18, 2005, an inequitable lawsuit, ordered by the General - president Idriss Déby pronounced heavy punishments. The judicial device the high officials of which are indicated by the President, belong all to its Party, the MPS. This partial institution has for only vocation to be repressed and to be condemned any vague desire to oppose to the interests of the presidential clan.
The independent journalist and the co-worker of the weekly the Observer, Garondé Djarma was condemned in 3 years by firm prison. As for the Chief editor Samory Ngaradoumbé, he takes the rap of 3 months. These punishments are accompanied by strong fines of 1.000.000 francs and 100.000 francs respectively.
Another journalist, Michael Didama, Director of the weekly Time, waits for the verdict of the court which sent back affair in deliberated on the next August 1. Let us remind that the Public prosecutor required in first authority against him, 18 months of detention closes more 30.000 francs of fine.
The Manageress of the weekly the Observer, Sy Koumbo Singa Gali will be fixed to her lot in the fellow men in daytime.
National and international opinion does not manage any more to follow lawsuits, indictments and other sword of Damocles which presses permanently on the soldiers of the democracy, the journalists. At the moment or ends this press report, we shall learn certainly the other condemnations.
The Action of Chad for the Unity and Socialism ( ACTUS),
1- calls to the French Government and more particularly to the President Jacques Chirac to require(demand) the immediate and unconditional liberation of all the journalists, political adversaries possessed for their opinions and the immediate stop of any engaged legal proceedings.
2- ask for the stop of the financial, military, diplomatic unconditional support for the regime of the General - president Idriss Déby, responsible for more than 25.000 deaths according to the associations of the rights of the Man died in 15 years of dictatorial power.
3- holds responsible, the French Government of the lot which would happen to the prisoners of opinion for this blind support which throws opprobrium on France, country of democracy and the rights of the Man.
The Chadian people wonders with indignation and legitimizes anger on this support criminal and collusive in the French Government, which, voiceless house or is reached by blindness. What could one even better produce except all the objective, oppressive reports without exception anybody, with supporting evidences, which flood drawers for 15 years? These reports of the organizations of the rights of the Man (Amnesty International, FIDH, LDH, HWR...) Associations (Survival, Friends of the earth,To act here, are not...) sufficient?
The General - president, did not take away any presidential election in 15 years of absolute administration. He remains in power due to murders and to electoral holdups, systematically approved by the French Government which repeats after every election, the preferred litany " elections took place well globally , there are no major natural incidents to be falsified results " and it, in spite of the embastillement and the tortures of the candidates of the opposition, the stuffings of urns, the selective censuses, the threats, the degrading and humiliating treatments of the voters favorable to the opposition and sometimes died from man …
We have to make unmistakably for an unlimited cynicism of the French Government. The Chadian people victim, would not know how to support infinitely to die in small fire.
Which would be this morbid and secret cynical quota in Chadian human lives, in advance established by the French Government and granted to the General - president Idriss Déby? After execution of this secret quota of massacres of the populations by the General- president Idriss Déby, that could stop this blind support of France for the dictator?
Would not Chad be how the other countries of the meadow-square of Africa, ripe for the democracy which lives a luxury? Such were, besides , profoundly hurtful comments, held by the President Jacques Chirac in 1986 in Abidjan, in Côte d'Ivoire. Finally, would this collusive silence have so between the lines no rear thoughts racists, because the life of the blacks would have the same value as that of the whites?
The spectre of complicity of France in the Rwandan genocide de1994, which made neighborhood 1millions of deaths, still haunts our spirits.
4- the ACTUS requires finally from the French Government, which introduced the wolf into the sheepfold for 15 years, to resume him because the Chadian people does not want it. For lack of being understood, The Chadian People will take its responsibilities and will assure its self-defence. The instinct of survival will drive its actions and the choice of adequate means, which it will implement to put outside state to damage the criminal regime of the General - president Idriss Déby and his clan.
