Food not bombs Leiden en "leven duurt langer zonder wapens"hebben vandaag gehoor gegeven aan de oproep van campagne tegen wapenhandel om in eigen stad bij de banken actie te voeren tegen de op handen zijnde levering van korvetten aan Indonesie.
We gingen daarom naar het stationsplein, naar de vestiging van de rabobank.

De Rabobank had zich voorbereid op de komst van activisten die het niet eens zijn met het voorfinancieren van oorlogsschepen die naar Indonesie gaan.
Ze hadden een flyer gemaakt voor hun klanten waarin ze aangeven te hopen dat deze niet al te veel last hebben van de vredesactivisten die voor de deur staan.
De rabobank beweert in deze brief dat Indonesie de korvetten nodig heeft om piraterij en illegale visvangst te bestrijden.
Wie de brochure van capmpagne tegen wapenhandel heeft gezien weet wel beter: deze korvetten worden gebruikt om Indonesische soldaten op Atjeh te brengen, en voor andere oorlogshandelingen tegen burgers.

Maar er was veel sympathie voor de actie tegen de oorlogsschepen, enkele mensen gaan ook de brief aan de banken ondertekenen en opsturen.

Vrede voor Indonesie.
Geen korvetten naar Indonesie.
