UNITED NATIONS GO HOME ! + OLTMANS
Henk Ruyssenaars - 01.10.2004 09:25

The Dutch author for 10 years (1987-1997) as a foreign correspondent covered North-Africa, incl. Libya, also during Gulf War I - and has ever since followed the development in the Arab World and the Middle East on a daily basis.

UNITED NATIONS GO HOME !

Libya will pay for any extra expense the move entails.

by Henk Ruyssenaars

FPF-30 Sept. 2004 - In an eloquent speech, which was hardly covered by the mainstream media in the United States and it's global offspring, the Libyan Minister for Foreign Affairs - Mohammed Abdel-Rahman Shalgam* the daybefore yesterday said "the United Nations should hold its 60th anniversary General Assembly session in Geneva next year, rather than at its New York headquarters.

"And Libya will even pay for it", minister Shalgam said.

From an objective point of view, the minister is right: the 'League of Nations' should never have moved from the 'more or less neutral'Switzerland and Geneva, to New York and the blackmailing US with it's 'United Nations organization', being all the time forced and shaped into a collaborating fig leaf for American foreign policy disasters. [US wars:  http://tinyurl.com/5sutw ]

"This would make it easier for world statesmen to attend", Shalgam said - an indication Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi would rather not come to the United States. [ Like Venezuela's Pres. Chavez and many others who are endangered:  http://tinyurl.com/6lufk ]

Grandpa Bush and Hitler

The international bankers and backers of Adolf Hitler and his wars [ Grandpa Bush - Url.:  http://tinyurl.com/52vbb ] helped towards the formal demise of the League of Nations, which would come on 18 April, 1946, when a 'Requiem Assembly' convened in Geneva and turned over its properties and vestigial functions to the new "United Nations Organization". Viscount Cecil, present at the end as at the beginning, marked the transition with the words:

'The League is dead. Long live the United Nations'*

One of Canada's best critical writers, Paul Harris, already declared the UN dead: "The United Nations has finally died." he wrote. Why?: Harris/UN-Url.:  http://yellowtimes.org/print.php?sid=852

Blackmail ?!

How the US's blackmail of the UN is done, most people which have any experience with this global farce do know very well by repetition. It's 'Catch 22' all over: the US, whenever it needs to, accuses the UN of 'inefficiency'.

The reason is always the same: the US withholds it's annual contribution, with the result that the UN can not work efficiently. For which it than is blamed by the US Gov't, which again therefore withholds most of the money which is absolutely necessary to work properly for the United Nations...

It is a disgusting combination of a vicious circle and US-Israeli policy making, at the cost of all the other 189 countries in the United Nations, apart from the United States and Israel.

Spying on the United Nations

Another way, is to tap all communications, and spy as much as the UK-US-Israeli services and their illegal 'corporate warriors' are able to. Everything is allowed except getting caught, but it happened again: exposed was the U.S.-UK-Israeli spying on countries on the U.N. Security Council, aimed at securing authorization for the illegal war on Iraq:  http://www.accuracy.org/press_releases/PR021204.htm ]

Libya wants permanent U.N. Security Council seat

The Libyan minister also said Libya deserves a permanent seat on the U.N. Security Council, and he made the mistake to propose former U.S. President Bill Clinton to serve on a new panel to solve the world's conflicts and wars.Good' ol' Clinton is not at all as innocent as he looks sometimes: Url.:  http://tinyurl.com/4js27 ]

Like almost every speaker this year, Shalgam called for expansion of the 15 - member Security Council, which once imposed sanctions on Tripoli after the 1988 bombing of a Pan American airliner over Lockerbie, Scotland. A total of 270 people died, and Libya was framed: both concerning Lockerbie as well as concerning the bombing of the Berlin discothèque 'La Belle'.*

Even the official UN-observer at the trial in the Netherlands - Kofi Annan's special envoy Prof. Hans Koechler - called the US/UK-framing in the so-called Scottish Court in 'Camp Zeist' "a miscarriage of justice".* The verdict in the Lockerbie case is a sham, and all the hundreds of $-millions - now to be paid by 'accepting Libya' is extorted money allowing Libya to buy it's way back into the international fold: not being the 'pariah' anymore which the US/UK and their malicious allies made it. [Links on 'Libya framing' below]

As a Dutchman, I'm very much ashamed about the respective right wing Dutch governments, completely and slavishly following the US/UK orders, not ever protesting against the permanent rape of international law. Nobody on government level - not even in the dutch judiciary - ever protested this glaring 'miscarriage of justice'. This branch of the dutch government, with the power to resolve legal conflicts that arise between citizens, between citizens and governments, or between levels of government, kept - and keeps - silentabout this gross injustice , shaming all of us.

Since in the Netherlands the 'National news agency - ANP' and most of the media are in the hands of the 'state', meaning the multinationals, their politicians, armed forces and 'journalists', critical journalism lies in coma since two decades. And now one of the people most needed in present day journalism in Holland is gone.

Yesterday one of the best Dutch journalist/correspondents ever, died at 79: 'Grand Old Journalist Man' Willem Oltmans, who held the same view of dutch journalism as undersigned, after living abroad among others for 40 years in the US. The previous Dutch right wing governments tried to silence him in many ways, but he won in the end.

Like in the States, the fish has started rotting at the head a long time ago: Holland is the bad side of 'America half asleep'...and has for decades secretly paid taxmoney and given - also military - help in for instance boycotting Libya and supporting Israel in it's genocide of the Palestinians. The ill informed Dutch people (16+ million) are permanently taken for a ride, but are like many americans knot knowing about it because the mainstream industry-media leave them out in the dumb cold.

''Libya deserves to have a permanent seat,'' minister Shalgam also said, and listed several achievements by his country, such as abandoning its weapons of mass destruction last year. [ A US' 'spin doctor's fake: Libya had no WMD's ]

And about reforming the United Nations, Gaddafi will soon address the UN move more fully on his Web-site:  http://www.algathafi.org/Index_e.htm

Shalgam emphasized that the world had to deal with the root causes of terrorism as well as combating it. ''If we want to eliminate terrorism, we must eliminate its causes and not simply pursue its operation,'' he said. 'As for oil, if we want oil supplies to be stable and its prices steady, we should keep wars and potential conflicts away from oil fields.''

THE DEMONIZED GADDAFI SEEMS TO HAVE AND USE MORE
BRAINS THAN MANY OTHER WORLD LEADER AT PRESENT.
