'Muur in strijd met internationale recht'

JERUZALEM/DEN HAAG - Het Internationaal Gerechtshof in Den Haag zal vrijdagmiddag oordelen dat de Israëlische 'veiligheidsmuur'' in strijd is met het internationale recht. De afscheiding moet daarom worden afgebroken en er moet een financiële tegemoetkoming komen voor Palestijnen die eigendommen verloren als gevolg van de aanleg.
Dat berichtte de website van de Israëlische krant Haaretz vrijdagochtend. Het dagblad zegt te beschikken over de documenten van het hof, dat later vrijdag zijn oordeel formeel bekend zal maken.

Today, EI publishes tomorrow's ICJ Advisory Ruling judgement on Israel's West Bank Barrier

US CST, 9PM, 8 JULY 2004 -- On 8 December 2003, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted a resolution (A/RES/ES-10/14) in which it requested the International Court of Justice to "urgently render an advisory opinion on the legal consequences arising from the construction of the wall being built by Israel, in the occupied Palestinian territories, including in and around East Jerusalem, considering the rules and principles of international law."
EI has today (8 July 2004) obtained a copy of the ruling of the International Court of Justice, the contents of which were to be officially released tomorrow. While the source of the document remains unconfirmed at this stage, the contents and format of the document appear to be genuine and the ruling is a shocking blow to Israel.

Gelukkig maar, dat de Israelische regering er zich niets van aan trekt.
(zo... nu snel dit bericht verwijderen, redactie. Voordat de linkse geloofsgemeenschap het kan lezen. Want dat zou slecht zijn voor hun zuivere zieltjes.)
