Dutch afraid to travel to the US ?
The Netherlands-05-05-03 - In a bitter and scathing interview with Amnesty
International, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees , and ex-prime minister
of the Netherlands, Ruud Lubbers, attacks Washington's treatment of
prisoners, asylum seekers and muslims.
"It is absolutely unbelievable that in the year 2003 people are fleeing from
the United States to Canada, because they do not feel safe anymore in the
US", mr. Lubbers said, "This absolutely is a disgusting development".
The in this interview very outspoken UN High Commissioner explains that he
abhors the detention of thousands of people in different countries under the
pretext of "the War on terrorism". "It's tragic, the way people are labeled
'terrorists', what is happening now in the United States is definitely horrible'.
According to ex-prime minister Lubbers 'the Americans are totally paralyzed
since 9/11, and totally convinced they have to defend themselves against
foreign threats. President Bush too is totally convinced of this, and does not see what tragedy is unfolding, which is contrary to american tradition. It's all very regrettable; this is not he United States anymore" the UN official said.
The US/UK invasion of Iraq Lubbers calls 'a humanitarian crisis' which he warned for beforehand. "It is my job to point out things like these, and criticize", he explained.
In a similar development, Dutch lawyers on national television explained, after bad experiences in the US, to be afraid to travel and work in the United States on court cases they have. According to well known dutch lawyers United States jurisdiction like 'plea bargaining', has nothing to do with either law or justice.
Dutch Government : Care-taker 'Quislings'.
84% of the Dutch population is according to the latest polls against the war in Iraq. The Dutch 'care-taker-government' of right-wing 'christians' and far right conservatives, is by many in the Netherlands very negatively looked upon as 'Quislings' of the present government of the United States. The minister of Foreign Affairs 'Jaap de Hoop Scheffer', is seen as the main Quisling-culprit, and blamed for being a cowardly 'sell-out' to the Bush-US.
Including secret agreements conc. extradition of citizens, without reciprocity.
The dutch Quislings are among the few govt's to extradite their own countrymen.
It is this injustice and inhumanity, the Dutch UN High Commissioner also reacts against.

Lubbers haalt uit naar Washington
AMSTERDAM - De Hoge Commissaris voor de Vluchtelingen van de VN, Ruud Lubbers, is boos op de regering-Bush.
De baas van de vluchtelingenorganisatie Unhcr noemt de wijze waarop de VS sinds de aanslagen van 2001 omgaan met asielzoekers en moslims "verschrikkelijk" en "vernederend".
De Nederlandse ex-premier zegt dat in de jongste editie van Wordt Vervolgd, het maandblad van Amnesty International.
Steen des aanstoots zijn voor Lubbers de duizenden mensen die Washington detineert in binnen- en buitenland in het kader van de internationale strijd tegen terreur. Onder hen zijn veel asielzoekers.
"Er is die akelige ontwikkeling dat asielzoekers geassocieerd worden met criminelen en terroristen. Dat is tragisch. Die tendens om asielzoekers te declasseren, en de manier waarop ze worden geëtiketteerd. Het is verschrikkelijk wat er gebeurt in de VS." (En ook om 26.000 mensen in NEDERLAND op straat te zetten, hetgeen volgens Human Rights Watch onmenselijk is: http://tinyurl.com/3dbxh -HR].
Lubbers neemt in het interview geen blad voor de mond. "Die hele ontwikkeling in de VS, om lijsten aan te leggen, mensen te categoriseren als lastposten, om ze te negeren, moslims die worden beschouwd als een veiligheidsrisico voor de VS, het criminaliseren van mensen die in eigen land ook al slachtoffer waren, om ze buiten de grenzen te houden en ze uit te zetten. Vreselijk. Het is absoluut ongelooflijk dat in 2003 mensen uit de VS naar Canada vluchten omdat ze zich niet langer veilig voelen. Dat is een afschuwelijke ontwikkeling."
Volgens Lubbers zijn de Amerikanen sinds de aanslagen op 11 september 2001 "verlamd". "Ze zijn zo overtuigd dat ze zichzelf met hand en tand moeten verdedigen tegen dreiging van buitenaf - en de president nog het meest - dat zich in feite een tragedie ontwikkelt die ingaat tegen de traditie van de VS. Het is betreurenswaardig. Dit zijn de VS niet meer!"
Met betrekking tot de oorlog in Irak zegt Lubbers dat hij "de eerste was die luid en duidelijk aangaf dat een interventie in een humanitaire crisis zou resulteren". "Ik ben ervoor op de vingers getikt als zou ik politiek bedrijven", onthult de voormalig minister-president. "Ik heb louter een voorspelling gedaan, dat is mijn functie."
Lubbers zit er niet mee dat zijn kritiek slecht valt bij de VS, de belangrijkste donor van de Unhcr. "Dat kan nooit de reden zijn het niet te zeggen. Ik heb een mandaat van de Algemene Vergadering van de VN om te roeren en op te komen voor de verdrukten."
De voormalige CDA-topman vreest evenmin dat hij over twee jaar geen nieuw mandaat zal krijgen. "My God, deze baan is al zo'n voorrecht. Ik ben 64 jaar, heb alles al gedaan in dit leven. Wat zou er mooier zijn dan dat ze me wegsturen omdat ik te kritisch ben. Dat zou fantastisch zijn!" [ end article Telegraaf ]
The Dutch 'government' of right-wing 'christians' and far right conservatives, is by many in the Netherlands very negatively looked upon as 'Quislings' of the present government of the United States. The former minister of Foreign Affairs 'Jaap de Hoop Scheffer', is seen as the main Quisling-culprit, and blamed for being a cowardly 'sell-out' to the Bush-US, earning the role as slave at the top of NATO, as Secr-General, licking US boots.
The Dutch taxpayers are betrayed by the multinationals and their politicians 'running' the country, including their secret agreements conc. extradition of citizens, without reciprocity.
The dutch Quislings are among the few govt's to extradite their own countrymen.

Deze nederlandse regering werkt mijns inziens mee aan een hele hoop smerige zaken waarvoor ze strafrechtelijk vervolgd dienen te worden.
Parlementaire commissies zoals we bij o.a. de Bouwfraude zagen, beschermen alleen maar de criminelen en hun al even criminele handlangers.
Iedereen zag het gebeuren: al die meineden van al die dieven. En dat is dezelfde inhumane mentaliteit bij die figuren die er nu 26.000 mensen uit willen werken om er tienduizenden uit het vroegere oostblok te willen binnenlaten, die voor nòg lagere lonen gaan werken.
Het alleen nog maar op profijt beluste nederlandse beleid van de laatste twintig jaar is walgelijk, weerzinwekkend en is een serie van misdrijven die strafbaar is.
