Waarom anarchisme en feminisme niet zonder elkaar kunnen? Een anarchist die alles wat opgelegd wordt ter discussie stelt kan zich toch niet zomaar neerleggen bij de bestaande man-vrouwverhoudingen. En wat is feminisme eigenlijk, gezien het bestaan van behoorlijk tegenstrijdige stromingen? We gaan het onder meer hebben over gelijkheid of verschil als uitgangspunt, het nature vs nurture-debat, en de mogelijke rol van mannen binnen het feminisme.
Why anarchism and feminism cannot do without each other? An anarchist who questions everything that is being forced upon him or her cannot possibly accept the existing dogmas of masculinity and femininity. And what is feminism anyway, since there are so many quite contradictory tendencies? We’re going to talk about equality or difference as a starting point, the nature vs. nurture debate and the possible role men can have in feminism.

Over de laatste maanden in het leven van Maria Elena Moyano, die in februari 1992 op drieëndertigjarige leeftijd werd vermoord door de Peruaanse revolutionaire beweging Lichtend Pad (Sendero Luminoso). Maria Elena was de oprichtster en leidster van de zogenaamde Vrouwenfederatie van Villa El Salvador, een sloppenbuurt die in de woestijn aan de rand van Lima werd gebouwd en door de bewoners zelf werd bestuurd. Twee maanden voor de aanslag had Maria zich uitgesproken tegen de haat- en geweldcampagne van Lichtend Pad, en hoewel ze door de lokale pers 'Mama Coraje' genoemd werd, tekende ze daarmee haar doodvonnis.
This Peruvian-Spanish co-production is based on the real life story of Maria Elena Moyano, a woman fighting against all odds in her country, Peru: Latin machismo, terrorism by the infamous "Shining Path", threats from policemen, a government distrustful of her intentions, all on behalf of an oppressed population, additionally burdened by poverty, and lack of basic infrastructure. As the different groups start discrediting her, she becomes the target of attacks from all sides. The picture is a rarity in Latin American, where stories of female COURAGE abound but are seldom told, and never before like this on film.

Familiekroniek over de belevenissen van een onafhankelijke vrouw en haar vrouwelijke nazaten. Vlak voor haar dood blikt de negentigjarige Antonia terug op de tijd - kort na de Tweede Wereldoorlog - dat ze voorgoed terugkeerde naar haar geboortedorp. Vijftig jaar leven in een kleine plattelandsgemeente passeren de revue. Antonia nestelt zich met haar tienerdochter in de oude hoeve van haar pas overleden moeder en tijdens de zich steeds herhalende cyclus van geboorte en dood behoudt de boerin haar eigenzinnige, onbaatzuchtige levensstijl.
In an anonymous Dutch village, a sturdy, strong-willed matriarch looks back upon her life, the generations of family and friends gathered around her table, and ponders the cyclical nature of time. This well-made film is a politically correct fable in support of radical feminism.

Self-defense for women
Zowel in ons persoonlijke leven als binnen de gemeenschappen waarin wij leven worden we bijna dagelijks geconfronteerd met verschillende vormen van geweld. Terwijl geweld vaak als individuele uiting van haat en wreedheid voorkomt, pleiten wij ervoor het als een meer complex systeem te beschouwen. Geweld is een diepgaand sociaal probleem, verbonden aan systematische en geïnstitutionaliseerde vormen van macht en onderdrukking. Met een diepgaand begrip van onderdrukking en geweld tegen vrouwen willen we verbale, fysieke en maatschappelijke strategieën onderzoeken om onze veiligheid en ons zelfrespect te kunnen vergroten. In deze workshop zullen we gebruik maken van zowel presentatie als participerende leermodellen. Tijdens de workshop zullen we ons zeker lichamelijk inspannen, ook toegankelijk voor mindervaliden.
Our individual lives and our communities as a whole are threatened and challenged on a daily basis by violence. Our belief is that while such violence includes individual acts of cruelty and hatred, we understand violence as a more complex system. Violence is a profound and multi-faceted social problem that is connected to systematic and institutionally based forms of power and oppression and is propagated culturally, institutionally and individually. With an in-depth understanding of issues of oppression and violence against women, we will explore verbal, internal, physical and community-based strategies for increasing our safety and self-esteem. This workshop will use presentation and participatory teaching models. There will be body movement involved and is accessible to all physical abilities.

Radical ways of self publishing
Met enkele gereedschappen en voornamelijk ‘gevonden’ materialen kan iedereen een eigen zelfpublicatie creëren. In deze workshop kunnen deelnemersters de ins en outs van het maken van een zine leren, zoals het bedenken van een eigen concept, pagina en lay-out ontwerp, het verkrijgen van bijdragen van buitenaf zoals kunst en andere visuele beelden, tot mogelijkheden van distributie. Deelnemersters krijgen praktische tips over hoe met overgave te knippen en te plakken en kunnen ondertussen misschien zelfs wat leren over de radicale politiek (en geschiedenis) van het maken van zines. Zines en andere radicale vormen van zelfpublicatie bieden ons mogelijkheden om te overleven, en manieren om buiten onze vertrouwde domeinen te stappen en ras, klasse, cultuur en seksuele identiteit aan te kaarten doordat ons persoonlijk in een materiële werkelijkheid aanspreken. Deze workshop benadrukt niet alleen de basistechnieken om materiaal te vergaren maar behandelt ook de vraag waarom we eigenlijk zines maken.
With a few tools and mostly “found” items, anyone can create an object of self-publishing. This workshop will teach participants the ins and outs of zine-making, from coming up with your own concept, page and layout design, soliciting outside submissions, including art and other visual images, to researching zine distros and retail sales. Participants will get practical tips on how to cut and paste with wild abandon and might even learn a thing or two about the radical politics (and history) of zine-making in the process. Zines and other radical forms of self-publishing give us a way of surviving, provide the means for stepping out of comfort zones to address race, class, culture and sexual identity because they address personal lives in a material reality. This workshop emphasizes not only the basics for procuring materials but also why we write zines in the first place.

Aktie: onverwachtse cheerleading performances door het roepen van politieke ‘cheers’ (en soms informeel gekleed)
Plaats: demonstraties, concerten en festivals, midden op straat etc.
Doel: het verwarren van onschuldige omstanders terwijl we lol maken en ons zegje doen!
Voor de oningewijden, radical cheerleading is een wonderbaarlijke beweging die een paar jaar geleden in Zuid Florida het licht zag en zich sindsdien als een om zich heen slaand vuurtje heeft verspreid. Het brengt meidenstemmen op straat en maakt protesten spannender. Als je wilt komen wees gereed om te schreeuwen en breng radical cheerleading outfits met je mee of grappige stoffen en attributen om ze ter plekke te fabriceren.
Action: unexpected performances of cheerleading whilst using political cheers (and sometimes dressed casually)
Place: demonstrations, concerts and festivals, in the middle of the street, etc.
Goal: to confuse innocent bystanders whilst having fun and having our say!
For the uninitiated, radical cheerleading is a wonderful movement that started a few years ago in South Florida (u.s.a.) and has spread like wild fire. it brings girl voices to the streets and makes protests more exciting. If you are planning to come please be ready to shout and bring along radical cheerleading outfits or fun fabric and props so we can make them.

Poet/singer/songwriter/performer
Joke Kaviaar woont in Amsterdam en schrijft zowel in het Nederlands als het Engels. Ze werkt samen met andere dichters en performers en vertoont haar poëzie op verschillende plekken in de Amsterdamse undergroundscene. Daarnaast schrijft ze proza en toneelstukken en heeft een aantal korte verhalen gepubliceerd. Een van haar toneelstukken is uitgevoerd door een vrouwengroep in Amsterdam. Joke Kaviaar is ook organisator van verschillende literaire evenementen. Ze zet een onafhankelijk platform op voor Nederlandse dichters en schrijvers die hun werk in eigen beheer uitgeven: de Vrije Boeken Dagen, ter promotie van Nederlandse onafhankelijke literatuur.
Joke Kaviaar is living in Amsterdam, writing in both Dutch and English. Now working with other poets & performers, Joke Kaviaar performs her poetry throughout the Amsterdam underground scene. Joke Kaviaar also writes prose and plays and has published a few short stories. One play has been performed by a women's group in Amsterdam. Joke Kaviaar is also organizer of several literary events. She sets up an independent platform for Dutch writers/poets, who publish their own work them self: Vrije Boeken Dagen, promoting Dutch independent literature.
Sabrina C. (folk music) - is een spoken word en folk artieste, afkomstig uit de buitenwijken van Chicago. Haar muzikale training als klassiek pianiste en componiste, in combinatie met haar theatrale achtergrond als toneelschrijfsters, regisseuse en actrice zijn duidelijk aanwezig in al haar performances. Haar folk nummers zijn net zo lyrisch, begeleid door simpele maar soms fluctuerende gitaarritmes. Beïnvloed door iedereen van Rumi tot Stravinsky tot Ani DiFranco, zijn haar optredens gewoon goed gemaakte erkenningen van iemand anders’ waarheid zoals zij die kent.
Sabrina C. is a spoken word and folk artist, who originally hails from the suburbs of Chicago. Her musical training as a classical pianist and composer, combined with her theatrical background, as a playwright, director, and performer are evident in each of her performances. Her folk songs are equally lyrical, accompanied by simple, yet sometimes fluctuating guitar rhythms. Influenced by everyone from Rumi to Stravinsky to Ani DiFranco, her performances are simply well crafted admissions of another person's version of truth, as she knows it.

Estrokings - een dragkingtroupe uit Amsterdam die regelmatig optreedt op feesten met grappige, politieke of kunstzinnige korte sketches. Verkleed als mannen willen ze de mensen laten zien te stoppen met denken in beperkende labels als man of vrouw. Er is zoveel meer diversiteit mogelijk dan slechts deze twee gendermogelijkheden. Dus fuck de gender politiek van deze maatschappij.
Estrokings is a dragkingtroupe from Amsterdam; performing regular on several parties short sketches, funny, political or arty. Dressed up as men we want to show the people to stop thinking in small labels as man or woman. There is way more possibility and diversity than just these two possibilities in gender. So fuck societies gender politics.
