On 16-30 there is a caravan against isolaiton from Brussels-Ankara. On 14th february there is a information event about the caravan Info avond Place: Cafe Molli Ostadestraat 55 Amsterdam Date: Friday 14th February Time: 20:00 h Info avond about the caravan until Ankara: CARAVANE against ISOLATION From 19-22 December 2000, 28 prisoners in Turkey were killed during a massacre of the state, those who survived were transferred into the isolation cells of the so-called F-type prisons. Isolation is internationally condemned as white torture and a more effective alternative for the old bloody torture. The hand book of the Turkish prison administration says: »Terrorists shouldn’t be allowed to communicate with each other, cause if a terrorist is not able to communicate, he or she will die like a fish out of water. … If a terrorist dries up, because his or her mental and ideological sources are cut off, also his or her revolutionary or destructive side will be neutralised.« So far 104 people died in the struggle against white torture in the prisons of Turkey. This resistance still continues in form of the death fast, unlimited hunger strikes and massive protests of relatives and democratic mass organisations. That’s why an international caravan was set up for the period of 16-30 March 2003, going through Brussels, Strasbourg, Genevre, Florence, Rome, Athens, until Istanbul and finally Ankara and back. During the way press conferences and public meetings should draw attention to the continuation of the isolation torture and the resistance of the prisoners. The caravan shall be also a call to all progressive and sensible people, to support the prisoners in their legitime demand for the end of isolation.
