ARTISTS AREN’T IN WAR!
Artists and their expressions, bodies and actions, fantasy and creations are
languages that build up relationships, comparisons, bridges not less real
because not made of iron and concrete.
Today the market empire cries out war’s words instead of possible
relationships between all human being and undertakes wars to deny pacific
solutions and promote religions death, destruction, silence.
Artists and their arts are afraid of silence and therefore they say that
weapons interrupt those relations they are really engaged to weave together.
War is the denial of those bodies which are the suorce of every comparison
that gives birth of life.
ALL THE ARTISTS ARE INVITED TO TAKE AN ACTIVE PART IN THE MOVEMENT AGAINST
THE WAR IN IRAK AND AGAINST ALL CONFLICTS IN THE WORLD, USING ARTISTIC
EXPRESSIONS, DIFFERENT LANGUAGES AND ALL CREATIVE FORMS THAT SHOW TO THE
WORLD WHAT THEY ARE

THE WAR IS THE NEGATION OF ALL THOSE WORDS AND ACTIONS, LANGUAGES AND
EXPRESSIONS THAT MAKE OF THIS PLANET A PLACE WORTHY OF LIFE
We will take side with determination and without hesitation joining the most
important international demonstration for peace that have ever been carried
out in all european capitals on the 15th February.
Arts not weapons. The arts occasion of life!
War is never necessary, war is not preventive, war is mankind’s holocaust,
war is terrorism, war is a taboo for all that people that have will and
conscience
artists against war!

de vijand? De staat natuurlijk!
activisme is natuurlijk leuker als het ook een beetje creatief gebracht wordt.

Voor de liefhebbers van het betere protestlied heeft Billy Bragg, de 'Socialist Bard from Barking' het schrijnende lied 'The Price of Oil' als GRATIS, dus legale, MP3 op zijn webstek gezet. Een fragment uit de, niet mis te verstane, tekst luidt aldus:

Een anti oorlogslied beginnen met " Saddam vermoordde zijn eigen volk " lijkt me toch niet de meest geschikte zin om een strijdlied tegen de oorlog in Irak aan te heffen. Ik zag laatst een heel kort interview met een Kurdisch Irakees vluchteling ( die zal wellicht niet met de zachtste kant van Saddam Hoessein te maken hebben gehad ) hij sprak met geen woord over de repressie in zijn land. De belangrijkste boodschap die hij uitdroeg was:" GEEN OORLOG! " .
Het huidige probleem is niet Saddam, wel de VS. Eerst moet de oorlog vermeden worden, dan moet het land zijn soevereiniteit terug krijgen en dan kan het volk beslissen of het verder wil met Saddam of niet. Net zoals het volk van bv. Marokko, Iran of Saoudi Arabië over hun regeringen zouden moeten kunnen beslissen.
