The Transnational Institute presents the new on-line journal Transnational Alternativ@s (T@T).
The Transnational Institute proudly presents the new on-line journal Transnational Alternativ@s (T@T). T@T is a multilingual electronic journal dedicated to promoting the exchange of critical thinking on global challenges and innovative proposals for progressive transformations.
Its main goal is the constitution of an open and permanent forum for creative interaction between researchers and activists from the South and the North, through the translation and online publication of political texts and other analytical resources.
As the name of the journal hints, the basic aim of T@T is to contribute to the democratisation of the flow of political theory among progressive movements around the world. We want to make available relevant analytical pieces that otherwise might not be published beyond its own language community, such as texts written in Spanish, Portuguese or French by scholar-activists from the South. And vice-versa: we will facilitate the dissemination of good political analysis from the North that otherwise will not be accessible to those who do not read English.
The pilot issue from T@T is dedicated to the concept of Social Forums and the Global Justice Movement. Here you will find an Editorial on Social Forums and a Bibliography of the Global Justice and Solidarity Movement prepared by guest editor Peter Waterman.
T@T was launched at the first European Social Forum, November 2002 in Florence.
