HEALTHCARE FOR ALL: STOP CORPORATE GREED! http://www.kwru.org/updates/11-06-02.html HEALTHCARE FOR ALL: STOP CORPORATE GREED! Join students, workers, labor leaders, healthcare professionals, social workers and community members as we hold a rally in Philadelphia to demand the right to healthcare in America. The rally will also serve as the kick-off to the Kensington Welfare Rights Union's "New Freedom Bus Tour", which will travel the country documenting stories of human rights abuse, including the lack of access to healthcare. Today's market-based healthcare system has made it clear that its bottom line is profit, not people. This has left us in a healthcare crisis where over 42 million Americans have no health coverage! Those fortunate to be insured have limited coverage and pay expensive premiums. It is a shame that, here in the richest country in the world, people are dying from a lack of healthcare. We believe that healthcare is a human right and that it is time to make our voices heard. Healthcare For All: Stop Corporate Greed Rally When: November 10th, 2002 at 2pm Where: Philadelphia. Convening at 12th & Arch and marching to Franklin Square Park (6th & Race) for a rally. Initial Co-Sponsors: Physicians for a National Healthcare Program, American Medical Student Association, Kensington Welfare Rights Union, Philadelpia Area Committee to Defend Healthcare, New Jersey Industrial Union Council, National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees, and Philaposh.
