Borgtocht Juanra nog een dag verlengd

In Amsterdam vond vandaag het hoger beroep plaats dat het Openbaar Ministerie tegen de verlenging van Juanra's borgtocht, voor de duur van zijn hoger beroep bij de Hoge Raad, aanspande. Vooralsnog kwam Juanra vanochtend weer vrij. Donderdagochtend 24 oktober wordt de uitspraak bekend.


Heden 23 oktober 2002 vond om 9.00 uur bij het gerechtshof aan de Prinsengracht 332 te Amsterdam het hoger beroep plaats dat het Openbaar Ministerie tegen de verlenging van Juanra's borgtocht had aangespannen. Het hoger beroep vond achter gesloten deuren plaats. Buiten de rechtbank bevonden zich een veertigtal demonstranten/sympathisanten/vriend(inn)en van Juanra. De zitting duurde ruim een uur. Tot onze grote opluchting kwam Juanra na afloop wel weer naar buiten met zijn advocaat Victor Koppe. De zitting had een tamelijk formeel en technisch karakter, zo deelden ons Juanra en zijn advocaat mede. Donderdagochtend 24 oktober zal het vonnis bekend gemaakt worden. Of dit vonnis (geanonimiseerd) op de website van de rechtbank zal komen is niet bekend, maar houd het zelf even in de gaten ( http://www.rechtspraak.nl/uitspraak/). Wij zullen zo snel als er iets bekend is dat melden via de diverse media.

Sowieso, ongeacht het vonnis van morgen vindt over ruim een half jaar de cassatiezitting van de Hoge Raad plaats. Deze cassatie betreft het hoger beroep dat Juanra aantekende tegen het toelaatbaar verklaren van de uitlevering door de Amsterdamse rechtbank op 1 oktober 2002.
