In this update we would like to inform everybody about 4 things: 1. You can still join our online competition. The deadline is October 17th 2002. 2. Check out our current online magazine on refugees. 3. Be prepared for our upcoming magazine that will focus on the ‘War onTerrorism’. 4. We hope to attract a lot of participants for our third online competition. If you have something to say, sing dance, perform about AIDS/HIV than you should check out our competition page to start looking for a partner to join the competition. The winning team will be performing on an AIDS Awareness festival at the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam on December 1st 2002. Be prepared for our upcoming magazine that will focus on the ‘War on Terrorism’. Globalisation has found its war. Terror is the enemy, the Arab world is the battle ground and the US leads the charge. The Bush administration is paving its evil way towards a perpetual globalised war. While Iraq is being accused of possessing and maybe even producing weapons of mass destruction, in reality it’s clear that oil security is the true goal. So, in the upcoming online magazine, Baobabconnections will offer you an array of features, interviews, reviews, poetry, testimonies, video footage and more aimed to inform and better yet to inspire you to take action for peace. This edition of our online magazine is not to be missed, it will be go online on October 15th. --------------------------------------------- 4. Join a Baobabconnections meeting in The Netherlands on October 21st 2002. Baobabconnections organises a public meeting in Amsterdam will hold its first monthly meeting. Cross pollinating academia, art, and activism, our gathering will focus on America’s war on terror. We believe that this war, in the interests of humanity and life, can be stopped and should be stopped. We invite you to pledge resistance and join the growing chorus: Not In Our Name/ No more Blood Transfusions for Oil. So, people join us in as we attempt to transcend the fear and turn up the faith at the Institute for Social Studies (ISS) in the Hague on Monday 21st October @ 8pm. Be there!
