I believe the Papuans are right, but I also believe that Dutch Government was forced (into giving Papua to Indonesia instead of to the people who live there, and into silence) by US Government. Thank God for the Ol' Us of A, policeman of the world. NOT! | debate on Okt 8 | Kees, XminY - 26.08.2002 14:51
Next oktober 8th there will be a solidarity evening in Amsterdam. See http://www.indonesia-house.org/events/Indoweek-aceh-papua-081002.htm It is part of a solidarity-week for Indonesia for which we are making a special newspaper now. But of course the Dutch governement is co-repsonsable for this situation. They never criticised the Indonesian governement (hiding behind some kind of handy post-kolonial political correctnes) and instead sold arms to the Indonesian military as much as they could. | |
