The short introduction before the screening will be about Rebelact and next Basic Rebel Clown Training in Amsterdam. Entrance is 4,- (after costs of the night a benefit for next rebel clown actions) About 'Noviembre': The film is a pseudo-documentary on the rise and fall of a radical provocative street-theater group in Madrid. Impelled by a spirit of idealism, Alfredo arrives in Madrid intending to create "a performance which is freer, straight from the heart, capable of making people feel alive". His concept of what theater should be begins beyond the stage out in the streets face to face with the public. There are no limits, no censorship; only ideas which are always valid so long as the public ceases to be public and becomes part of the show swept by surprise, fear, tears or laughter. Told documentary style with interviews of veteran actors who recall their past in the avant-garde theatre group, alternating with the representation of this past, the film is a combination of spectacular street productions and totally contemporary political reflections. The film makes one think about the role of art: a business, a hobby, a life style, an instrument of confrontation... and of the extremely individualistic and materialistic society we live in. Could art be a way of changing this world? E-Mail: rebelact@ddh.nl Website: http://www.rebelact.nl |
