The implication of the World Bank and the World Economic Forum (WEF) in making political decisions in Poland is poorly known. At the upcoming WEF summit in Warsaw (28-30 April 2004) it's likely that there will be organised debates at an Alternative Economic Summit.
Not many people are aware that institutions like the World Bank and the World Economic Forum (WEF (pl)  http://manufaktura.pl/attac/?dzial=teksty&nr=149) have a significant role in making socio-political decisions in Poland. This role can be seen, for example, in the "obfuscation strategy", in writing new laws without participation of the Welfare Ministry, in the strategy of hiding the results of the World Bank's failed experiments in Latin America, and in the "divide and conquer" strategy in the reform of the retirement pension scheme "ZUS" ((pl) + (en) http://pl.indymedia.org/pl/2003/12/3440.shtml). Next time these strategies might fail if there a re transparent, horizontal communication methods used among citizens.
It's likely that at the time of the upcoming European Economic Summit in Warsaw (28-30 April 2004), that apart from decentrally organised protests ((pl)+(en) http://www.alter.most.org.pl/wef) there will also be an Alternative Economic Summit ((pl)+(en) http://www.alter.most.org.pl/aes). There will be discussions on alternative economic models like, for example, the participative economy (parecon) ((en) http://www.parecon.org/), LETS ((pl) http://www.lets.pl/) and other methods of defending Articles 1, 2 and 22-25 of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights ((pl) http://www.amnesty.org.pl/biblioteka/pdpcz.html).
There is some chance that just as happened in October 2003 in Dublin, the WEF meeting might be cancelled. But you should be prepared in any case for media battles. La participation de la Banque mondiale et du Forum économique mondiale (FEM, ang. WEF) dans les décisions politiques en Pologne est peu connue. Lorsque le FEM vient a Varsovie (28-30/04/2004) il est fort probable qu'il y aura un Forum économique alternatif et des actions militantes pour ouvrir le champ du débat.

Il est peu connu que les institutions comme la Banque mondiale et le Forum économique mondial ((pl) World Economic Forum) aient un rôle significatif dans la prise de décisions socio-politiques en Pologne. Par exemple, l'usage prémédité dans les (pl) (en) réformes des pensions de retraite (ZUS) des stratégies telle que la « stratégie de confusion », la préparation de nouveaux décrets et de projets de loi sans la participation du Ministere de Travail, la volonté de cacher les expériences échouées de la Banque mondiale en Amérique latine, ainsi que la stratégie de « diviser pour régner », est peu connu. La prochaine fois, chacune de ces stratégies pourra échouer si des pratiques de communication radicalement transparente, claire et horizontale entre cityon-ne-s soient utilisées.
C'est pourquoi il est tout probable, qu'il y aura non seulement (pl) des manifestations militantes contre la rencontre du FEM, le « Sommet économique européen » (SEE) du 28 au 30 avril 2004 a Varsovie, mais il y aura aussi un (pl) (en) Forum économique alternatif pour parler des modeles économiques alternatifs comme (en) l'économie participative (la parecon) et (pl) les systemes d'économies locaux LETS.
Il est possible que les autorités aillent paniquer devant la liberté d'expression et vont annuler la rencontre du FEM comme en octobre 2003 (en) a Dublin, mais on pourrait s'attendre a ce qu'il y ait une grande bataille médiatique, et il serait sage de ne pas se fier a uniquement un seul réseau médiatique comme l'Indymédia Pologne, mais plutôt de se rappeler qu'il y a des Indymédias dans d'autres lieux, et qu'il y a des pages ouaibbe comme (de) Smash WEF!, et d'autres pages en polonais comme, ex. neoeconomicus, d'autres listes sur most.org.pl, poprostu.pl, prawda.pl, ichuj (« je m'en fous »), Kupuj Odpowiedzialnie! (« Achetez responsablement ! », ATTAC Pologne i Recykling Idei (« Recyclage des idées ». Des médias indépendants pourraient aussi profiter de notre page wiki pour de la méta-coordination. Pourtant, il serait mieux d'organiser d'autres pages indépendantes spécifiquement pour le SEE et pour le sommet alternatif...
Et si tu es doué-e pour la synthese d'information, veuille écrire ou corriger les pages de la Wikipédie sur la (fr) Banque mondiale et sur le (fr) FEM. Les néolibéraux pourraient eux aussi écrire sur la Wikipédie, mais la stratégie de confusion est peu efficace la-dedans, puisque c'est un espace documentaire ou la clarté et la transparence sont hautement valorisées.
