Chai Brigade Chai Militia Support Group (SMSG) - 16.10.2009 09:56
On the night of October 15th the Chai Militia put their tea cups down and went onto the streets of Leiden! Two police stations and the City Hall were targeted. Chai = Power! This si what the Chai Militia Support Group (SMSG) found in their mailbox: The Chai Assault “This color does not fit right with my uniform!" (the cry of a police station when assaulted with chai) On the night of October 15th the Chai Militia put their tea cups down and went onto the streets! After reading the news about our comrades starting fires in the Hague, we were inspired and went for a round through Leiden. We gave two petty police stations the colour they deserve: blood-lusty red for the pigs that they are. Paint and broken windows are just the beginning. By breaking their windows we want to shatter their myth of invincibility. The pigs though are just puppets of the ruling class. That's why we also went to visit the city hall and left our marks there as well. The squatting law is just another step towards the globalisation of repression and exploitation. Anyone who doesn't listen to the state apparatus is seen as a threat. Not just people like us, tea drinking rebels, but also others without the privilege of drinking tea inside their zone of comfort: marginalized workers, now facing a work-sentence up to their 67th, migrants who are being kept out of view by barbed-wire fences and jails, and many others. And now also people fighting against speculation and reclaiming unused space. But reclaiming public space can be done in many different ways; it can be done by organizing neighbourhood parties in gentrified areas, secret meetings in to be demolished forests, smashing CCTV cameras spying every move we make, or by sabotaging the gates to the public transport system. Power to the Imagination! So to all the people who we left behind in The Hague today to be beaten up by the pigs: Solidarity! May you choose the moment to strike back. Many small and decentralized actions will scare the shit out of the pigs and the bosses. Who follows next? As Nelson Mandela put it: “The government has interpreted the peacefulness of the movement as weakness; the people's non-violent policies have been taken as a green light for government violence. Refusal to resort to force has been interpreted by the government to use armed force against the people without any fear of reprisals” If it's true what the AIVD says in their last report, that resistance is getting more structured and is growing, then now is the time to interrupt your reading and tea drinking. Now is the time to Act! "Now we will dream and go on adventures..." - Your friendly tea drinking neighbours |
